I watched the dissections of a squid and a horseshoe crab. While viewing the dissection of the squid, I was surprised at the length ratio of the mantle compared to the arms. The internal anatomy of the squid was comparable to the octopus that I researched, with the muscles and digestive system seeming interchangeable. The squid overall was interesting to see since I have only seen them in videos and pictures. The horseshoe crab was abnormal to what I normally see in deep sea life. When the internal anatomy of the crab was view able, I was surprised at how hard it was to see the main organs since the muscles looked what others described as “scrambled eggs” and what seemed like it. Overall, I enjoyed the dissections that Summer had set up for us.
