Photography Basics
Rule of Thirds / Golden Section
Diagonals
Symmetry
Asymmetry
Photography basics was an assignment to see if I could see and apply the basics in everyday life. I drove to a lookout where I knew I could get some photos the would apply to the assignment. At first, it was easy since I started with the ones that I could capture close by, rule of thirds/golden ratio, diagonals, and symmetry. I was halted by asymmetry, since I had taken photos of pretty much the whole area, I had no where to look. Out of all of the time taking photos, finding asymmetric scenes took the most, I had to zoom in and scan the area to find hints of abnormality. I felt that this was a good project, with a spin I took to take all of the photos from tripod spot. I was able to hone in on specific areas, in which I could take a photo of without worrying about getting other basics inside of the same photograph.
